RAPIDLY DISSEMINATES THE FACTS IN A UNIQUELY ENGAGING MANNER
Just the FACTS by FACTUALITY is a facilitated dialogue, crash course, and virtual interactive experience that simulates real life experiences in America. It is played with a rich group of diverse characters (above) that encounter a series of fact based advantages and limitations based on the intersection of their race, class, gender, sexual orientation, faith, ability and age.
THOROUGHLY UNPACKS 12 INTERSECTING AREAS IN UNDER 90 MINUTES
Just the FACTS' interactive delivery creates a comfortable environment for participants to engage in meaningful experiential learning. In under 90 minutes, participants will simulate, discuss, and unpack the structural limitations and advantages that coincide with various intersecting identities.
Just the FACTS is played with eight characters that belong to the following racial groups: Asian, White, African American, and Hispanic. There are male and female characters, LGBTQ characters, Muslim, and Jewish characters. Each character encounters a series of fact based advantages and limitations based on the intersection of their race, gender, sexual orientation, faith, class, age, and ability.
Participants select a character that differs from how they identify and are then engaged in a facilitated conversation that includes but is not limited to: racial, gender, religious, and sexual orientation discrimination, gender and racial pay gaps, redlining and gentrification, median income averages by race and gender, (mental) health disparities, prison and bail disparities, (dis)ability, education inequity, ageism and intersectionality.
Just the FACTS evokes empathy, increases cultural competence, & enhances self-awareness.
- Participants will become acquainted with the intricacies of inequality’s intentionally structured foundation and its crippling cyclical nature.
- Participants will be able to dismantle the various preconceived biases associated with various marginalized groups.
- Participants will leave self-aware and can (begin to) contribute to inclusive rhetoric regarding the dissolution of structural inequality in UNDER 90 MINUTES.
