NCCWSL: National Conference for College Women Student Leaders

I arrived early to set up FACTUALITY at NCCWSL: the National Conference for College Women Student Leaders just to find that the room was not equipped with tables and chairs requested. As I am trying to figure out how to prepare the room with less than 30 minutes to spare, I stopped to ask myself my favorite question, "what's the worst that can happen?" The room isn't prepared, session attendees have begun to arrive... what's the worst that can happen? The worst case scenario was that I had to improvise for my set up and causing me to start a little later than expected. Totally manageable. No need to be stressed.

FACTUALITY was created out of my willingness to no longer allow adversity break me... and as I was setting up the room in front of 30 young women, I shared my "what's the worst that can happen" mindset, I addressed the importance of always extracting the silver lining from situations that don't go as planned, and 15 minutes after the scheduled start time, the attendees had taken their seats (we borrowed panel discussion tables from a cancelled session) and the facilitation began. 

Not only does FACTUALITY contribute to the growth of my session attendees, it contributes to my growth too. 

The panel discussion tables worked out just fine. Shout out to Shelvia English, a former student turned friend, who helped with the impromptu set up.
