Reunited and it Felt So Good

Last summer, I had the opportunity to collaborate with Loyola University's F.I.R.S.T. (Find. Ignite. Reflect. Serve. Transition.), which provides First-Year students with the experience of beginning the college journey through the lenses of prayer, reflection and Jesuit identify.

A staple of the program is cultural competency training and I'm so grateful for the F.I.R.S.T. partnership which allowed me to train the student leaders and program attendees two summers in a row.

The F.I,R,S,T, Assistant Director sharing painful childhood memories about an encounter outside of a redlined neighborhood in Baltimore. Weaving personal encounters with structural inequality into discussions makes this experience more palatable. Look at the engagement.
