I immediately get chills when I reflect on Sunday's experience with Running Start's annual Young Women Political Leadership Program. Imagine 60 young, progressive teenage girls who just get "it." It being that structural inequality plagues our society and compromises our well-beings and levels of success and that the intersection of other marginalized identities only further compromises the aforementioned... and most importantly that something MUST be done about it.
The overall engagement and discussion contributions left me feeling equally inspired and hopeful about the future as it pertains to equality. Running Start is truly remarkable and I am so thankful to Susannah Welford and Queenstar Akrong for such an incredible opportunity.
I can feel the engagement all over again just by looking at this picture!
A few days later, I was invited to Running Start's networking reception to celebrate these incredible emerging leaders at the Microsoft Innovation & Policy Center. The program participants and I were so excited to reconnect again.
Watch out for these faces! They will run the world! #GIRLS
